Job Description
Sika is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support the shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory functions at our Benicia, California production facility. This role is critical to ensuring smooth day-to-day logistics operations by maintaining accurate records, supporting inventory management, coordinating shipments, and providing SAP system support.
As part of site team, this position requires flexibility and a willingness to support activities across Logistics, Production, and Quality as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company housekeeping standards. Actively participate in and support the site's Sika SAFE Program and all safety initiatives.
Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities to meet operational deadlines.
Communicate with internal departments, carriers, vendors, and customers regarding shipment schedules, pickups, deliveries, and issue resolution.
Prepare shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
Support warehouse and plant operations to ensure inbound and outbound deadlines are achieved.
Process and complete shipment transactions in SAP accurately and on time.
Receive raw materials, packaging supplies, and traded goods into SAP inventory.
Provide SAP support to warehouse personnel, including label printing, document preparation, discrepancy research, and transaction troubleshooting.
Assist leadership with inventory control activities, including cycle counts, inventory verification, and reporting.
Maintain organized warehouse and logistics records.
Participate in cross-functional plant activities and special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
2-3 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
Strong administrative and organizational skills.
Basic computer proficiency and experience working with inventory or logistics systems.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Solid mathematical skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Ability to troubleshoot operational and process-related issues.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work overtime when business needs require.
Ability to perform heavy physical work in a manufacturing environment.
Frequently move throughout the plant and warehouse.
Occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 50 pounds of force.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment after training.
Preferred
SAP experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution setting.
Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
