They are also responsible for chart preparation, managing lab results, and performing various administrative tasks such as answering phones and filing documents.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and hold a certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or MA-ARMA. Additionally, a minimum of 3 months of experience in a healthcare setting and Basic Life Support certification are required.

The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and clerical support such as patient rooming in addition to assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, chart preparation, obtaining referral notes, images and lab results prior to patient visits.
