Position Type: Pool PRN
Shift: Days; will fall on a Mon-Fri schedule as needed for clinic coverageThe Rad Tech provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.This position will primarily provide coverage across the St. Petersburg, Brandon, and South Tampa offices, with the home base located in St. Petersburg. The role may offer up to 32 hours per week; however, hours are not guaranteed. We can reasonably anticipate at least 24 hours per week for candidates who are flexible and willing to travel on a PRN basis across all six locations.About the organization:With highly skilled physicians from coast to coast, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is one of Florida’s largest orthopedic and sports medicine providers. Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures for patients in an outpatient clinical setting.
Support a multidisciplinary care team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physical therapists by delivering high-quality images for timely diagnosis and treatment.
Exercise sound judgment in selecting proper technical factors and patient positioning techniques specific to sports medicine and primary care needs.
Provide patient instructions and education to ensure understanding and cooperation during exams.
Ensure proper patient identification and accurately document relevant clinical history.
Assess image quality and confirm all required anatomy and annotations are captured.
Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure risks for patients, self, and others.
Maintain equipment and clinical spaces in a clean, organized, and functional manner.
Assist with patient flow, including transport and scheduling support as needed.
Collaborate with front-office and clinical staff to maintain an efficient, high-quality patient experience.
Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, including radiation control standards and HIPAA.
Support the training of new technologists or students when applicable.
Participate in quality control and performance improvement initiatives.
Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients of all ages and activity levels.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Licensure/Certification:
Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification

The hospital has a 38-bed neurosciences unit with a dedicated neurology team consisting of board-certified neuroscience specialists and physicians with subspecialty expertise in stroke, epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease, and includes a Level IV Epilepsy Center. In partnership with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Bayfront Health Baby Place offers full obstetrical services and is a Level III Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center, one of only 13 in Florida. The Bayfront Health Cardiac Cath Lab, offers more cardiac testing and treatment space than any other provider in the St. Petersburg/Pinellas County area, with ease of access to the cardiac surgical program. The hospital is also home to three residency programs and one fellowship program, providing an exceptional teaching and learning environment to train the healthcare leaders of the future.
