The phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples via venipuncture or capillary stick and performing specimen processing and registration. They also manage laboratory equipment, handle reception duties, and prepare specimens for reference laboratories.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire. A minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience or completion of an approved training program is required.

All Sites: Reception and Telephone duties & proficient operation laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems; specimen handling: receiving and processing; prep & shipping of lab specimens for at Reference Laboratories; specimen/patient registration; phlebotomy - collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick; therapeutic blood collection; swab collection of specific Micro samples (per competency); assignment to OP Lab locations; training new staff as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification
6 months Direct experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a Phlebotomy program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework/Training Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy training Program/Course approved by WA State.
