Dental Scheduling Coordinator
At Islander Dental Arts, we are committed to creating positive experiences for all of our patients, no matter what they come in for. As a scheduling coordinator, you will be the “first impression” on our patients and be responsible for connecting them with the provider they need. An ideal candidate is energetic, friendly, and compassionate. Our amazing team of providers has many years of experience and there will be plenty of room to learn and grow in our practice.
A scheduling coordinator creates a liaison between patients and the dental facility that they represent. It is their main responsibility to provide excellent patient services by ensuring that all telephone calls for information and services are serviced and help patients by answering their questions and dealing with their concerns. You will also schedule appointments and check out patients, verify insurance and collect payments.
You will be working with Dr York and Dr Novak, along with our team of hygienists, dental assistants and front desk personnel. We have an operations team to ensure that the entire office is supported and heard. They will also facilitate and support the training and touch bases throughout your learning journey.
Job Type: Part-time approximately 27 hours a week
Salary: Negotiation based on dental office experience

Additional Description:
Greet patients and verify their appointments by consulting the patient scheduling system.
Schedule patient appointments by verifying empty slots in doctors’ calendars and ensure that appropriate follow up and reminders are managed.
Answer telephones and provide required information such as facilities’ services and admission procedures. Check voicemail and texts throughout the day and deliver to appropriate position.
Handle new patient data entry activities by making sure that accurate and updated information is entered.
Obtain patients’ insurance information and input into dental software.
Monitor patient relations and ensure patient satisfaction by dealing with complaints and concerns in a profound manner.
Schedule patients for diagnostic procedures and analyze, extract, and interpret information from patients’ medical records as required.
Obtain both verbal and written authorizations for patients’ procedures and ensure that both eligibility and benefits are verified prior to each procedure.
Facilitate and reschedule no show appointments and ensure that any emergent patients are catered to efficiently.
Communicate to patient co-pays and patient balances to ensure immediate payment.
Coordinate patients check out processes and set follow up appointments.
Checking office email account throughout the day and replying to texts as they come in.
