This role also handles data entry into payroll systems, audits benefit files, and coordinates with site teams to distribute benefit materials.
Requirements
Candidates should possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, along with 3-4 years of relevant experience. A strong working knowledge of federal benefit laws such as ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA is required.
Full job description
A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Benefits Coordinator is the operational face of Blattner’s benefits team — the dedicated resource that ensures day-to-day benefits administration is accurate, timely, and employee-focused. This role supports all lanes of the benefits team: retirement; health and welfare; well-being; leave administration and operations. FMLA eligibility determination is a distinct responsibility of this role — separate from case management, which remains with the Leave Advisor.
STEP INTO THE ROLE
Provides customer service by functioning as a liaison between Quanta and employees regarding benefit plans, responding timely to employee questions via emails, phone calls or ServiceNow requests. Advises employees on benefit eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters. First point of contact for our benefit team. Escalates complex or sensitive situations to the appropriate Sr. Benefits Analyst or Leave Advisor.
Partners with the site teams to ensure they have inventory of all benefit materials.
Distributes weekly/monthly/quarterly paid sick leave reports to sites. Schedules and meet with new project site teams to review the state sick leave process.
Maintains weekly benefit file by uploading/entering new benefit elections into the payroll system. This includes confirming benefit elections, auditing file accuracy, weekly arrears reporting and validating deductions in the payroll system. Ensures the appropriate benefits are transferred on the file and the deduction amounts uploaded into the payroll system are accurate.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR or relevant HR certification a plus.
3 - 4 years of HR, benefits administration, or related experience required. Familiarity with FMLA eligibility requirements and leave administration processes required. Working knowledge of federal benefit laws including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA. Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, detail-oriented administrative work with accuracy and consistency.
WHAT SETS YOU APART
Experience with benefits systems (JDE E1, Workday, or similar HRIS) preferred.
FMLA Eligibility Knowledge – Working knowledge of FMLA eligibility criteria, required documentation, and determination timelines; able to apply criteria accurately and communicate outcomes clearly to employees and managers.
Benefits Administration – Familiarity with health and welfare, retirement, and leave program administration; able to process transactions accurately in HRIS systems and identify data discrepancies.
