This position serves as an Income Maintenance Supervisor II, providing direct administrative and technical supervision to a specialized Adult Medicaid unit.
The unit focuses on Long Term Care, Special Assistance, Community Alternatives Program (CAP), and Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). The selected candidate will directly lead and support a team of five to six (5-6) case workers within a larger unit of eleven (11) experienced staff who manage complex adult program eligibility and ongoing case maintenance.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position features a hybrid work arrangement that includes both in-office and remote work, based on operational needs, unit performance, and demonstrated leadership reliability.
In this role you will be responsible for supporting 5-6 specialized case workers managing active caseloads of approximately 225 case heads each. Reviewing complex eligibility determinations, applications, recertifications, and program transfers to ensure strict compliance with state policy and federal regulations. Monitoring unit workflows, reassigning cases as needed, and ensuring the team consistently meets multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment. You will serve as the primary subject matter expert for the unit, clarifying intricate Medicaid policies and resolving complex case issues independently. In addition, you will be expected to facilitate training progression, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a collaborative team environment.
This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory or leadership experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Prior experience with Medicaid eligibility, specifically Long-Term Care programs, is preferred.
Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to provide direct supervision for income maintenance staff to assure timely and accurate delivery of public assistance benefits for clients within Economic Services.
Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire): High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory or leadership experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Functions of the position:
Assure compliance within assigned program areas regarding all applicable policy, rules, and statutes/regulations (local, state, and federal), including providing technical guidance and policy interpretation, as well as assuring compliance with all county and human resource policies covered by local, state, and federal regulations.
Supervise team of staff who provide direct services, including personnel, position, and team management; selection and recruitment; employee onboarding, training, and development; performance evaluation; employee relations and disciplinary matters; and employee engagement functions.
Assign staff duties, relative to classification and specific to job description, communicate the expectations for successful performance of those duties and ensure staff understands how performance will be measured.
Ensure efficient and effective workflows and implement changes in work practices and procedures as needed according to programmatic and unit needs.
Ensure a fully staffed, competent workforce and a safe and supportive work environment for all employees.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with state and local agency individuals.
