The Janitor is responsible for performing heavy cleaning duties and maintaining buildings in a clean and orderly condition. This includes managing cleaning supplies, operating power equipment, and notifying management of necessary major repairs.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience. The role requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance and the physical capacity to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders.
Clean floors, shampoo rugs, wash walls and glass, remove rubbish, and vacuum areas to maintain cleanliness.
Utilize power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and other cleaning equipment effectively.
Follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and handle hazardous materials responsibly.
Inspect and repair motorized cleaning equipment to ensure it is in working order.
Track and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment needed for maintenance.
Regularly inspect building operating systems and notify management of any necessary major repairs or improvements.
Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
1+ years of experience in a related field.
Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment operation.
Ability to complete scheduled, routine tasks quickly and efficiently without close supervision.
Must be capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and working on a stationary ladder.
Familiarity with the safe use of tools and cleaning products.
Certification in custodial or janitorial services.
Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Familiarity with advanced cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
Previous experience as a janitor
Experience working with hand and power tools
Ability to work on-site.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Ability to stand and walk for most of the work shift.
Manual dexterity to handle cleaning tools and equipment.
Ability to work in potentially hazardous or loud environments.
Ability to travel as required.
