The Registration Representative is responsible for verifying patient demographic and insurance information while navigating the fast-paced Emergency Department environment. Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant experience. Proficiency in computer systems, effective communication, and the ability to work on-site in a demanding clinical setting are required.
This position entails working on-site in Rochester, MN, within the Emergency Department. The responsibilities involve a considerable degree of mobility, with team members actively moving through the Emergency Department, entering patient rooms to verify demographic information, insurance details, emergency contacts, primary care physician information, collecting ED copays, and gathering other pertinent data. Additionally, our team is responsible for welcoming patients arriving by ambulance or helicopter, often during challenging moments in their healthcare journey.
The Registration Representative is required to ensure patient safety using positive patient identification protocols and obtain the appropriate consents as required. In person registration requires the ability to physically walk to patients’ location throughout the emergency department and/or hospital. This role requires adherence to quality assurance guidelines as well as established productivity standards to support the work unit’s performance expectations.
