The Facilities Director partners closely with employees, leaders, vendors, and contractors to plan, prioritize, and execute facility initiatives while maintaining high service standards and operational reliability.

What You’ll Do:
Lead the overall management of facilities operations, maintenance, security, and building systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of Jewelers Mutual facilities and grounds.
Develop and execute long-range facilities strategies, including capital planning, renovation projects, infrastructure improvements, space utilization, and workplace enhancements.
Oversee preventative maintenance programs, facility inspections, operating permits, and regulatory compliance to maintain building integrity and adherence to applicable requirements.
Direct security and emergency preparedness efforts, including building access controls, safety programs, emergency response procedures, drills, and critical infrastructure systems.
Manage facility-related budgets, forecasts, and operating expenses, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize costs.
Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and ongoing management of external service providers, ensuring quality service, regulatory compliance, and cost effectiveness.
Oversee facility infrastructure and support services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generator/UPS systems, custodial operations, waste management, recycling programs, and related building services.
Manage facility renovation, refurbishment, relocation, and space planning projects, ensuring successful delivery within established timelines and budgets.
Provide leadership and direction to facilities team members, including setting priorities, assigning work, developing staff, and ensuring a high standard of service and operational performance.
Maintain facility-related records, contracts, inspections, certifications, and compliance documentation.
Partner with business leaders, employees, vendors, and contractors to identify facility needs, prioritize initiatives, and deliver effective solutions that support organizational objectives.

What You’ll Bring:
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive facilities management experience, including leadership responsibility.
Experience managing facility operations, maintenance programs, and building systems in a commercial environment.
Experience leading renovation, refurbishment, infrastructure improvement, and capital projects.
Experience developing and managing operating and capital budgets.
Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Ability to read and interpret building drawings, blueprints, and floor plans.
Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certification such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or similar credential.
Experience managing multi-building campuses or complex facilities environments.
Experience overseeing security systems, emergency preparedness programs, and business continuity efforts.
Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and backup power systems.
Experience with facilities management software, maintenance management systems (CMMS), and space planning tools.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls; and talk or hear.
