Position Summary
Reporting to the AVP of HR, the person in this role implements a variety of programs and policies and processes in service of a productive, collaborative and inclusive work environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating the hiring and onboarding process and assisting the AVP of HR on projects related to diversity, organizational design, organization effectiveness and workforce planning. It is essential that the human resources generalist have a successful track record weaving diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging (DEIAB) into all aspects of the employee life cycle and be able to model leadership and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
Recruiting, Interviewing, Hiring, and Onboarding Process
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Ensure recruiting processes yield a diverse and qualified slate of candidates
Guide hiring managers and interview panels through the interviewing and hiring process
Facilitate the onboarding process, ensuring new employees are successfully brought into the work environment, shortening the time it takes to becoming a productive employee
As needed, update job descriptions and ask third-party vendors to conduct salary analysis
HR Policies, Compliance, and Employee Relations
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Coach managers on how to encourage employees and manage performance, including employee recognition and, when needed, progressive discipline. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Revise HR-related policies as needed
Strategic HR-Related Programs and Projects
Work with AVP of HR and other members of the organization to ensure DEI is woven seamlessly into our processes and programs
Assist the AVP of HR on work related to organizational design, organization effectiveness and workforce planning
Model and teach behaviors that contribute to a collaborative, productive, and inclusive work environment
Miscellaneous
Submit invoices for assigned vendors
Supports the Payroll and Benefits Manager with Payroll Processing and Annual Open Enrollment
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; three to five years of HR-related experience; proven experience as an HR generalist; or a combination of education and experience

Strong evidence of having worked on becoming an inclusive leader
Knowledge of employment/labor laws; knowledge of HR policies and procedures
Effective coaching skills; Experience in recruitment
