The Emergency Department Medical Technician provides direct and indirect patient care, including phlebotomy, EKG, and wound preparation under the direction of an RN. They also assist with patient hygiene, equipment maintenance, and quality improvement activities to ensure a safe environment.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or GED. A valid EMT certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required, along with current BLS certification.
Meet our Care Team Members: ED Tech
Within scope of medical certification, independently provides direct and indirect patient care. This includes, but not limited to phlebotomy, EKG, wound preparation, applying splints, obtaining specimen and the fitting and educating of durable medical equipment. Provides care to patients under the direction of the RN which may include assisting patients with grooming and hygiene needs and personal comfort. Participates in quality improvement activities.
