Full job description
Who are we? Global Maritime is a leading marine, offshore, and engineering consultancy that offers intellectually stimulating work within a deeply collaborative culture and with uniquely supportive leadership. This environment creates a culture where talented professionals truly thrive. At the heart of what we do are extraordinary challenges. We directly contribute to unique, often world-first projects on the global stage. We are driven by a vibrant culture of innovation, including dedicated R&D, advanced in-house software, and the freedom to develop your own ideas. This rapid exposure across the entire spectrum of marine, offshore, and engineering consultancy accelerates your expertise like nowhere else.
Welcoming you to our team: You will join our Human Resources team based in London (hybrid), reporting to the Regional HRBP – North Sea and operating under the strategic leadership of the Head of People & Culture. The UK HR function plays a critical role in enabling business performance by delivering seamless, compliant, and people-centric HR operations. Acting as the operational backbone of the UK HR function, this role bridges strategic HR initiatives with outstanding day-to-day delivery. You will partner closely with managers and employees across the UK business, ensuring that all people processes are executed with precision, professionalism, and consistency.
What does success look like in this position? In this role, success means confidently owning and expertly delivering the full UK employee lifecycle, ensuring every touchpoint—from offer to exit—is smooth, compliant, and positive. You will be a trusted and approachable advisor on employee relations matters, giving clear, pragmatic guidance while handling sensitive situations with care and integrity. You keep payroll inputs meticulously accurate and always on time, bringing a sharp eye for detail to every data point. You take pride in maintaining flawless HRIS and NetSuite records, ensuring systems are reliable, structured, and insightful. You stay ahead of UK employment legislation and proactively refine policies so the business remains compliant and protected. You also use HR data intelligently, spotting trends and translating them into meaningful insights that support smarter decision-making. Overall, you bring structure, clarity, and confidence to the UK HR function, making it run efficiently and effectively every day.
How you make an impact: As our Senior HR Advisor – UK you will make a significant impact by delivering high-quality, compliant, and efficient HR operations that underpin the success of our UK business. You will act as a dependable expert across employee lifecycle management, employee relations, payroll coordination, and HR systems, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and transparency in all HR activities. By championing best practice and maintaining robust HRIS and NetSuite data integrity, you will strengthen the organisation’s operational foundation and reporting capabilities. You will work closely with the Regional HRBP and Head of People & Culture to provide valuable insights through HR data and analytics, supporting workforce planning and strategic decisions. Your proactive approach to compliance, governance, and health & safety alignment will protect the organisation and reinforce a culture of accountability and care. Through strong collaboration with managers and stakeholders, you will elevate people practices, enhance employee experience, and contribute directly to a resilient, high-performing, and people-focused organisation.
Your starting point when you join:
CIPD qualified (Level 5 preferred) or degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a business-related discipline
Proven HR experience within a fast-paced or corporate environment
Experience operating at HR Advisor or Senior Administrator level
Solid, hands-on experience handling UK employee relations casework and applying UK employment law
Proven experience preparing and validating payroll inputs within a monthly corporate payroll cycle
Strong experience managing HRIS platforms, with exposure to NetSuite or complex ERP systems preferred
Strong analytical capability, with advanced Excel skills and experience producing HR metrics and insights
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to challenge and advise senior managers
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail, particularly across payroll data and system accuracy
Strong focus on delivering high-quality HR operations, compliance, and continuous improvement
To act within the powers of their role, leading by example and following GM compliance, ethics and company values
Working with us Global Maritime stands out as the premier destination for any maritime professional due to our unique blend of technical opportunities – the chance to shape the industry's future on globally significant, cutting-edge projects – within a genuinely supportive and collaborative international community. This is all combined and led with leadership that actively mentors your growth within an empowering non-political environment. At Global Maritime, you'll find an exceptionally supportive and collaborative environment. We cultivate close-knit global teams built on transformative relationships, not transactional ones. Expect transparent, two-way communication and a genuine sense of community, fostered through shared celebrations, activities, and a commitment to social responsibility. This ensures you feel connected, valued, and part of a cohesive international network focused on making a positive real-world impact. Your journey will be guided by leaders defined by integrity, accessibility, and honest investment in your growth. You can expect clear strategic direction, open communication channels right up to the CEO, and a transparent Career Framework. You'll be mentored and developed by recognized industry thought leaders within an informal, flat structure where data drives decisions. This ensures you're empowered, supported, and valued as an individual, never just a cog in the machine.
