Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Sushi Cook to join the team at our busy Asian restaurant. In this position, you will be responsible for using high-quality ingredients to prepare delicious sushi creations for our customers. The ideal candidate is experienced, creative, and committed to creating an excellent food in a fast paced environment. If you have a passion for creating sushi dishes that “wow,” we want to hear from you.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up the sushi kitchen section with necessary tools, ingredients and equipment
Prepare sushi maki rolls, nigiris, sashimis, crudos, tatakis, Omakases and present them in an appealing manner according
Work as a team with other Sushi Cooks and Chef specially during high volume shifts
Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary
Follow all food safety regulations, inspect daily deliveries of fish and seafood.
Know to clean, cut and prepare fish and seafood for the proper preparation of our sushi and omakase creations
Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures including but not limited cleaning of sushi sections
Performs other duties as assigned by the head chef or management
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of previous experience as a Sushi Cook
ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification
Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes
Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
Excellent time management skills
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
