Join our team as a General Accountant!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized General Accountant to support the organization's day-to-day financial operations. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting functions, which may include accounts payable, accounts receivable, or program manager expenses, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with agency policies and accounting standards.
The successful candidate will be accurate, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities while building positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They will take pride in producing high-quality work, demonstrate sound problem-solving skills, and contribute to the continued success of the team.
What We Are Looking For:
Education and Professional Certification
A certificate, diploma, or degree in accounting, business, or a related field of study.
Experience
Minimum one (1) year of accounting experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience working with enterprise accounting software.
Skills and Characteristics
Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently and efficiently.
Ability to perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy and with a high attention to detail.
Ability to self audit to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Proficient computer skills.
A strong understanding of organizational accounting and generally accepted accounting principles.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to adapt to new situations quickly.
Able to grasp the essence of new information to develop new insights into situations to refine and improve existing concepts, processes, and services.

Duties and Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day accounting operations within accounts payable, accounts receivable, or program manager expenses.
Process financial transactions accurately and ensure supporting documentation is complete and maintained.
Prepare and process invoices, payments, deposits, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions as assigned.
Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies, respond to inquiries, and provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate financial records and prepare reports in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
Ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and participating in the onboarding and training of new staff.
Additional Requirements
The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.

Ranch Ehrlo, a non-profit, was founded by the late Dr. Geoff Pawson in 1966. It started as a single home for six boys with significant complex needs and grew to a multi-service agency delivering a wide range of accredited mental health and developmental services delivered in southern Saskatchewan and in and around Saskatoon and Prince Albert.
Our services include assessment and psychotherapy for members of the broader community, family treatment and reunification, early learning, counselling, emergency receiving, specialized foster care, affordable housing, group care treatment and education for children and youth with mental health, behavioural, and addictions needs, and group care and vocational services for older adolescents and adults with pervasive and complex developmental disorders, and community recreation and sports programs for at-risk youth.
