Since 1987, Participate Learning has partnered with schools and districts to prepare students for career success through cultural exchange, dual language programs, and global learning. We help students build bilingual fluency, problem solving, and critical thinking skills to apply their learning in real-world settings and any career path.
A Dual Language Instructional Assistant primary duty is to provide instructional support for students and teachers in the Participate Dual Language Mandarin immersion classrooms. This position leads groups across different subject areas with instruction delivered in Mandarin. The lead dual language teacher will have primary responsibility for the overall instruction of the class. However, in the absence of a lead teacher, the DLIA is expected to take over the lead instructional role in the classroom.
The DLIA may serve in one or more Participate dual language program schools within the same geographic area based on need for coverage or support as instructed by the Director of Dual Language Programs or program manager.
This is a part-time position with full benefits; assignments may vary between 25 - 40 hours per week depending on need.

In collaboration with lead teacher, DLIA will share responsibility for:
The DLIA is not responsible for non-instructional duties in the school. In the absence of the lead teacher, the instructional assistant will focus on the delivery of instruction in the target language to support students in their fulfillment of the grade level curriculum.
The lead teacher will be the teacher of record and DLIA will not be fully responsible, but will support the lead teacher in maintaining student records.
