The role involves designing and preparing comprehensive substation drawings, including one-lines, grounding plans, and control cubicle layouts. It also requires coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and performing QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality design deliverables.
Candidates must have over 10 years of relevant experience in substation physical design and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley software. A high school diploma is required, though an associate degree is preferred.
Our Charlotte, NC office is looking for a Substation Physical Designer with 10+ years of experience to join our Power Delivery team!
Development of bills of materials and general arrangements from substation one-line diagrams
Coordination with protection and controls, civil/structural, and drafting disciplines to ensure quality deliverables
Participation in client meetings and site visits for data gathering, as required
Interpretation and incorporation of vendor information into design deliverables
Application of client standards related to the work
Performing and ensuring the company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are followed for all design packages
Continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
