The Junior Architectural Designer will contribute to architectural design development, technical drawing production, consultant coordination, and portfolio-wide design initiatives. Contribute to adaptive reuse, office-to-residential conversion, and redevelopment initiatives.
Assist with design research, space planning, and development of innovative building and amenity concepts.
Support project teams in evaluating design alternatives and project opportunities.
Support Interior Design & Design Standards
Assist with the selection and coordination of interior finishes, materials, fixtures, and furnishings.
Research current design trends, materials, and best practices within residential and mixed-use developments.
Support the maintenance and implementation of portfolio design standards.
Help ensure consistency in design quality and branding across projects.
Assist with preparation of finish schedules, material boards, and design specifications.
Support Project Coordination & Technical Delivery
Prepare and revise architectural drawings and documentation using Revit, AutoCAD, and other design software.
Assist with Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP) submissions.
Coordinate with consultants, including architects, engineers, and specialty consultants.
Support project scheduling, tracking, and document management.
Assist with quantity take-offs, preliminary budgeting exercises, and project reporting.
Prepare presentation materials for internal stakeholders, municipal authorities, and project partners.
Support Construction & Quality Assurance
Review drawings and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and design intent.
Participate in site visits and field reviews to monitor project progress.
Assist in addressing design-related questions and coordinating revisions during construction.
Support quality assurance reviews throughout design and construction phases.
Maintain project records, drawing revisions, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Environmental Design, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in architectural design, drafting, or development-related projects.
Experience with multi-family residential, mixed-use, or commercial projects is considered an asset.
