The Residence Worker supports youth and children with complex psychiatric and developmental needs in a specialized care environment. They are responsible for assisting with activities of daily living, implementing care plans, and providing emotional support to residents and their families.
A diploma in social services or a related field and one year of relevant experience are preferred. Candidates must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license and pass comprehensive criminal record and MCFD clearance checks.

ROLE PURPOSE
This role will contribute to the establishment and operation of a Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD) funded program for youth and children who require full-time specialized care due to multiple psychiatric diagnoses, developmental disabilities, and complex behaviours. The Residence Worker will build relationships with resident(s) and families, and assist residents to live successfully in the residence, ensuring that residents’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs are met. They will work alongside other staff to assist residents with activities of daily living and the development of life skills.

Unionized; this position requires union membership
HOURS
Mornings (08:00 – 16:00)
Evenings (16:00 – 00:00)
Overnights (00:00 – 08:00)
Casual employees must be available for at least 21 shifts per month in which seven are overnight shifts.
If you are working full-time, or if you are a full-time student, we ask you for 15 shifts of availability per month in which five are overnight shifts (this is subject to employer or enrollment proof).

COMPENSATION
As Connective is a unionized environment, the starting wage is $29.22 per hour plus 10.6% in lieu of vacation pay and benefits. The wage will increase with every 2,000 hours worked up to a maximum of $33.54 per hour.
