The purpose of Corporate Affairs is to protect, promote and enhance the company’s reputation in our UK and US territories. It is to build and help others build the reputation that National Grid needs to succeed in the short and long term.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of data and technology and a keen interest in the practical application of AI and emerging technologies. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. It requires a proactive self-starter who can analyse problems, identify practical solutions, and work independently while engaging colleagues where appropriate.
Key Accountabilities
Manage stakeholder data, data governance activities and data quality processes, becoming a subject matter expert in stakeholder data and data management practices.
Develop, maintain and continuously improve data quality standards, controls and remediation activities to improve the accuracy, consistency and completeness of data.
Work with colleagues across Corporate Affairs to understand requirements, analyse business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Translate business requirements into data, technology and process solutions that deliver measurable business value.
Design and deliver dashboards, reports and visualisations, including the use of Power BI, to support decision-making across Corporate Affairs.
Administer and continuously improve stakeholder management systems, associated processes and governance frameworks.
Design and implement solutions that combine data, systems and technologies to meet business requirements and improve operational efficiency.
Coordinate activities with external suppliers and technology partners, including enhancements, testing, issue resolution and service improvements.
Investigate and coordinate the resolution of data, system and process-related incidents, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, standards and regulatory requirements
Contribute to the delivery of wider Strategic Operations & Intelligence team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience in data, analytics or related disciplines along with experience using data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI.
A strong understanding of data management principles, including data models, data structures, governance and data quality management
Ability to collaborate, build relationships and work effectively across teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly using PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Ability to listen to, understand and synthesise business requirements into practical data, process and technology solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Experience working with large datasets and applying data quality, governance and management principles.
Experience using data analysis and visualisation tools, such as Power BI.
Understanding of data structures, data models and information management practices.
Ability to create, implement and measure performance against standard processes and frameworks.
Experience administering or supporting business systems, platforms or databases.
Ability to work with suppliers, technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver improvements and resolve issues.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.
Adept at navigating challenges, identifying solutions and influencing stakeholders.
Understanding of compliance, information governance and data protection principles.
Enthusiastic about technology, innovation and the practical application of AI, with a willingness to continuously learn and develop.
