Cooling performance limits AI infrastructure, semiconductor equipment, photonics, power electronics, defense systems, and other high-powered compute applications. Alloy Enterprises addresses these constraints with advanced thermal management components enabled by its Stack Forging™ process, which creates single-piece, leak-tight metal parts with complex internal microgeometries for stronger cooling performance, lower pressuredrop, and high reliability. Founded in 2020, Alloy has built an industry-leading thermal management platform for data centers and mission-critical systems.
This role generally requires1-2days onsite per week.
What You’ll Do
AsSr. Manager,Capital Projects, you'll be the primary project manager responsible for building out our new advanced manufacturing space — from an empty site to a fully operational production facility. You'll own the schedule, budget, and execution of the entire capital project, coordinating everything from site selection and facility design through equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning. This is a high-visibility role at the center of our expansion, where the decisions you drive will directly shape our manufacturing capacity and growth trajectory as part of the Johnson Controls family.
Beyond day-to-day project execution, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on the broader strategy behind our expansion. You'll help evaluate capital outlay decisions, weigh site and capacity trade-offs, and translate business objectives into an actionable buildout plan. You'll work across engineering, operations, finance, and external partners to keep a complex, multi-workstream program moving on time and on budget.
Who You Are
You're an experienced project leader who thrives on turning ambitious plans into operating reality. You've stood up or expanded manufacturing space before, and you know how to juggle contractors, equipment vendors, permitting, long-lead machine purchases, and a schedule without losing the thread on budget. You're equally comfortable in a hard-hat walkthrough and in a leadership meeting defending a capital forecast.
You bring structure to ambiguity. When the path isn't fully defined, you build the plan, identify the constraints, and drive alignment across teams that don't report to you. You're a strong communicator who can distill a sprawling program into a clear status, a crisp risk, or a well-framed decision for executives. You care about the details — a mis-sequenced install or an overlooked lead time — but you never lose sight of the strategic why behind the build.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary manager for the end-to-end buildout of a new manufacturing facility, owning overall schedule, budget, and execution.
Support site selection by evaluating candidate locations against capacity, cost, infrastructure, and operational criteria.
Coordinate the procurement of production machinery and capital equipment, including specification, vendor selection, long-lead planning, delivery, installation, and commissioning.
Develop and maintain the integrated project schedule and capital budget, tracking actuals against plan and forecasting to completion.
Manage vendors and consultants across construction, facilities, utilities, and equipment installation — holding partners accountable to scope, cost, and timeline.
Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks; escalate decisions with clear options and recommendations.
Provide regular, executive-ready status reporting on progress, budget, risks, and key decisions.
Advise leadership on higher-level expansion strategy, capital allocation, and capacity planning trade-offs.
Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, EHS, and quality to ensure the facility meets production readiness requirements.
Ensure the project meets applicable safety, regulatory, and permitting requirements
Qualifications
8–12 years of experience managingengineeringprojects, facility buildouts, or manufacturing/industrial construction programs.
Demonstrated ownership of project budgets and schedules.
Experience procuring and installing capital equipment or production machinery.
Proven ability to manage contractors, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver complex programs on time and on budget.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to both technical teams and senior leadership.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Skills
Experience building out or expanding manufacturing facilities, ideally in advanced or high-mix manufacturing environments.
PMP, or a comparable project management certification.
Experience with new-site selection and greenfield or brownfield facility development.
Background working within or alongside a larger parent organization on capital approval and governance processes.
Working knowledge of manufacturing operations concepts such as capacity planning, OEE, and production readiness.
SALARY RANGE: $117,000 - $196,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
