Responsibilities
Lead the planning and implementation of custom market research to drive a consumer-centric strategy for smoke-free product portfolios. Translate complex consumer and market data into actionable recommendations to shape brand performance and commercial outcomes.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Sociology, Psychology, Marketing, or Research with at least 5 years of experience in consumer insights within CPG or an agency. Must be proficient in diverse research methodologies and possess strong communication skills for presenting to stakeholders.
At Philip Morris International (PMI), we’ve chosen to do something incredible. We’re totally transforming our business and building our future on one clear purpose – to deliver a smoke-free future.

So, if you join us, you’ll enjoy the freedom to dream up and deliver better, brighter solutions and the space to move your career forward in endlessly different directions. Our success depends on people who are committed to our purpose and have an appetite for progress.
We are seeking a highly motivated Manager - Insights & Foresight to lead our efforts in achieving business and commercial success for PMI's smoke-free product portfolio. As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate with various departments within our commercial function, focusing on both IQOS and Zyn brands. Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager Insights, you will spearhead a consumer-centric approach that is essential to our company's vision for a smoke-free future.
In this role, you will have the autonomy to lead, plan, and implement custom market research studies among legal age nicotine users, connecting the dots with business needs to drive our consumer-centric agenda. You will play a crucial part in shaping our smokefree products portfolio strategy, contributing to the innovative and forward-thinking culture of our organization. We take pride in fostering an environment where your ideas are valued and your growth is encouraged. Join us in making a significant impact and be a part of a team that is dedicated to making a difference in the world.
Your day-to-day:
Drive business decision-making by translating consumer, brand, and market insights into clear, actionable recommendations that shape strategy and commercial outcomes.
Own the diagnosis of brand and category performance by identifying key drivers of equity, communication effectiveness, and consumer experience—and framing the “so what” for the business.
Proficient in navigating ambiguity and challenging the status quo, while working collaboratively to deliver actionable recommendations grounded in deep consumer understanding to address the "so-whats" of the business.
Embed agile and innovative research approaches to accelerate learning cycles, ensuring insights are delivered at the speed and flexibility required by the business.
Lead end-to-end research projects—from defining business questions and shaping proposals to writing/reviewing questionnaires, managing fieldwork, and synthesizing outputs into clear, decision-ready recommendations.
Leverage complex data sources (primary, syndicated, and behavioral) to uncover insights, quantify impact, and provide evidence-based guidance to stakeholders.
Create compelling, story-driven narratives and visualizations that clearly communicate insights, influence stakeholders, and drive business action across functions and seniority levels.
Who we are looking for:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Sociology, Psychology, Marketing or Research
Minimum 5+ years of experience in consumer insights within CPG or consumer research agency
A true team player who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and possesses expertise in consumer research methodologies and processes. Capable of coordinating with research partners from drafting briefs to finalizing contracts and managing projects effectively.
Extensive knowledge and proven application of a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research initiatives and methodologies to address business objectives, including survey development and execution, segmentation, advertising effectiveness, panel research, ethnographies, focus groups, in-depth interviews, brand tracking, and product research.
Proficient in extracting insights from both quantitative, qualitative and syndicated data, connecting the dots across multiple data sources, and making informed business recommendations.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences. You are articulate, engaging, and capable of bringing your stories to life with clear and actionable recommendations.
Entrepreneurial and results-driven mindset, adept at aligning top-down, cross-functional, and market priorities, analyses, and insights.
Experienced in managing research vendors to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Energized by trying new things and demonstrating agility in ways of working.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing business needs.
Willingness to travel as required.
Must be eligible to work in the US now or in the future without sponsorship for employment, legally authorized to work in the US
Annual Base Salary: $104,000 – $130,000
