With a national platform spanning 80+ offices across the U.S. and Canada, the firm completed over 8,800 transactions in 2025, with $50.8 billion in sales volume. Our mission is to help our clients create and preserve wealth through exceptional real estate investment expertise and service.
The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating administrative operations, supporting compliance efforts, and facilitating collaboration across brokerage, People, and office management functions. This position oversees staff, manages workflow and logistics, and supports office initiatives and events.
The base salary range for this role is $75,000 – $83,000 per year. This position is eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus. The exact bonus is not guaranteed and will vary based on individual performance, team results, and company performance. Actual pay will be determined by factors such as education, experience, and job-related skills relevant to the role. Marcus & Millichap is a multi-state employer and posted salary ranges are provided in good faith for compliance with all relevant pay-transparency regulations. These ranges may not reflect potential compensation for positions based in other states or regions.
Responsibilities:
Provide office and compliance management support to the office including Brokerage/Transactional, People/Staff, Local Management, Administrative, and Event Planning responsibilities.
Prioritize and monitor workflows, solving issues and escalating to corporate departments when necessary.
Hire, train, develop, and manage staff.
Aid in the provision of a ‘concierge’ level of service to brokers.
Onboard all classifications of personnel, including both employee and brokers, and care for ongoing employee and broker experiences.
Assist sales management in the preparation of reports, local sales contests, and other similar projects as necessary.
Collaborate with sales management to effectively communicate and implement initiatives, policies, and procedures across departments and between offices.
Manage facilities and coordinate logistics for office needs, including space planning, moves, remodels, and reorganizations, while serving as the primary liaison with Property Management.
Plan and coordinate office events throughout the year, including the New Year's kickoff, broker recognition events, external and in-office social events (such as summer and holiday parties), and charitable events.
Work collaboratively with offices and departments across the division and firmwide.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Three (3) years of experience in office and staff management.
Experience-based knowledge of compliance and human resources functions.
Staff supervisory experience.
Strong Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Budget, purchasing, or similar cost-efficient decision-making skills.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Collaborative, proactive, and approachable leadership style with a strong desire to manage and develop team members and maintain a positive and high-performing sales office environment.
Ability to multi-task and accurately meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
Quick learner with an interest in software and technology.
Excellent attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, takes pride in owning responsibilities, contributes to a team, and leads by example.
Real estate brokerage, legal, finance, and property management background preferred.
Event planning experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional education in a relevant field preferred.
