The Radiology Assistant is responsible for safely transporting patients to and from the Radiology Department using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds. They also support radiologic technologists by preparing contrast media, loading CT injectors, and managing patient documentation.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required.
The Radiology Assistant is responsible for transporting patients to and from the Radiology Department, ensuring their comfort and safety while in transit. This includes using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds for non-ambulatory patients and escorting ambulatory patients as needed. Additionally, they assist radiologic technologists with workflow tasks, such as retrieving contrast media from the Omnicell, loading CT injectors, and preparing necessary forms for patient procedures. The role also involves performing other duties as assigned to ensure efficient patient care in the Radiology Department.
