We are on a mission to change the accounting industry by creating the premier people-first firm where strong and talented team members will thrive. We are innovators of tax services and firm culture with work-life integration. We accomplish this by using the best technology and automation on the market, providing unlimited vacation and sick days, creating an autonomous work environment, holding engaging and ongoing training, and offering health insurance and 401(k) matching. We are committed to your growth - with a defined job leveling framework, a structured mentorship program, and clear pathways from Associate to leadership roles, high performers at Hall CPA have the tools, visibility, and support to advance.
Tax Managers are responsible for the success, retention, and satisfaction of their team and clients by empowering and upskilling staff, overseeing tax compliance services, and developing strong, lasting client relationships. As a Tax Manager, you will build and maintain client relationships through retention strategies and exceptional service delivery. Tax Managers are responsible for overseeing tax compliance services, which may include reviewing and delivering multi-state Individual, Partnership, and S-Corporation tax returns (among other types of returns) as well as the corresponding workpapers that support those tax returns.
Beyond compliance, Managers drive team execution by setting clear goals, holding staff accountable to deadlines, quality, and revenue metrics, and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. Tax Managers also identify process and efficiency opportunities, implement solutions within their teams, and collaborate with Senior Managers and firm leadership to enhance client service and team performance. In addition, you will participate in and assist teamwide initiatives to drive process improvements, cross-team communication through collaboration, and enhanced client service.
As a team leader, you will provide strategic guidance and coaching across all staff levels to ensure goals, objectives, and processes are clearly communicated, understood, and consistently executed. You will also focus on developing future leaders, fostering accountability, and creating high-performing teams that deliver best-in-class service to both clients and colleagues.
Total Compensation Range: $117,000 - $160,000
Areas of Responsibility
Conduct final reviews of tax returns, sign tax returns and deliver to clients, and provide a brief recap video or phone call to walk the client through the return, highlighting areas of significance
Provide best in class service to clients, serving as the primary client relationship manager, and maintaining strong client relationships by managing their expectations, being responsive to their communications/emails, and providing high quality deliverables
Set clear performance targets, monitor progress, and conduct regular check-ins, driving a culture of accountability and holding team members accountable to deadlines, revenue, and quality metrics
Conduct regular coaching and training sessions, as well as monthly goal check-ins, to remove blockers, foster accountability, encourage professional growth, and drive best in class client service
Adhere to professional ethics of the firm and AICPA, including policies regarding client confidentiality
Ensure the firm’s goals, objectives, and processes are clearly communicated, understood and executed consistently by each team member.
Seen as a subject matter expert in multi-state and real estate taxation; lead technical research and advise on complex transactions
Oversee resolution of client notices and audits, facilitating communication with the client, state or federal agency, and any staff involved
Lead or contribute to firm initiatives including proposals, training development (CPE), and efficiency/innovation committees
Consult with Senior Managers and staff related to engagement concerns and issues, and assist in resolving client engagement issues
Stay updated on tax law changes and mentor team members to elevate technical skills, service quality, and collaboration

When Brandon Hall founded Hall CPA in 2016, he had a simple vision: to build an accounting firm designed specifically for real estate investors and to change the accounting industry.
He saw too many investors working with generalist CPAs who didn't understand the tax strategies and planning opportunities unique to real estate. Just as frustrating, many firms were difficult to reach, slow to respond, and focused solely on filing tax returns.
So he built something different.
Today, Hall CPA serves real estate investors, syndicators, sponsors, developers, agents, brokers, high-income earners, and business owners across the country. Our team specializes in helping clients make strategic decisions throughout the year, not just during tax season.
From rental property owners to large-scale developers and syndicators, we bring deep real estate expertise and a proactive approach to every client relationship.
More than anything, we believe great accounting starts with understanding our clients, communicating clearly, and providing advice that helps them move forward with confidence.
