The Community Educator promotes health programs through site visits and community events while identifying and enrolling potential Medicaid candidates. They are responsible for building relationships with community agencies and providing educational presentations to members and organizations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree preferred, and at least one year of experience in sales, service, or community marketing. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends are required.
Role Overview:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Community Outreach, the Community Educator promotes The Health Plan’s programs throughout the state via site visits and participation in community events. They will identify and direct potential Medicaid and uninsured candidates appropriately to The Plan’s programs. They will develop, implement and manage community event opportunities and coordinate these activities with the Community Education staff. They will educate potential Medicaid recipients on how to enroll and access the enrollment broker system for plan enrollment.
