Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Contract Administrator based out of San Diego, CA supporting the Navigation, Intelligence and Connectivity Division's Dynamic Connectivity Solutions (DCS) Operating Unit. This position will be staffed as an in-office role and offers the 9/80 schedule.
The Principal Contract Administrator will be considered a key focal point on contract matters within the organization and must demonstrate the skill and ability to perform complex tasks. As most assignments are complex, the position will require the candidate to work independently without appreciable direction.
This position will require excellent oral and written communication skills and will represent the organization as a focal point on contract matters. This position will require interaction with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations and may develop and deliver presentations.
Responsibilities:
Administer, extend, negotiate and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts.
Provide advice to management of contractual rights and obligations, compile and analyze data, and maintain historical information as well as be self-motivated.
Have the ability to handle urgent situations from Northrop Grumman leadership and U.S. Government officials.
Participate in proposal preparation (review, analysis, interpretation & contractual advice on terms & conditions), contract negotiations, contract administration, review and approval of contractual documentation to protect the company and provide for proper contract acquisition in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
Provide contractual advice in accordance with company policies and procedures, and interface with both internal and external customers to ensure proper contract execution.
Serve as an external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives.
Ensures timely and compliant deliverables for all contracts assigned.
The successful candidate will have the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 5 years experience in contract administration and management or related field (i.e. paralegal, etc.) OR Masters Degree plus a minimum of 3 years contract administration and management or related field (i.e. paralegal, etc.).
Experience using FAR/DFARS.
Experience working with various contract types such as Time & Material, Cost types, Firm Fixed Price, Other Transactions, etc.
Experience working with proposal development and negotiations.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance is required.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Experience in U.S. Government and/or Defense contract administration & management.
Experience working independently and collaborating with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
Experience briefing internal and external customers
A current/active DoD Secret clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
