Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent and 5+ years of professional experience in a matrixed organization, including at least 1 year of management experience. Must possess strong data-driven decision-making skills and experience in retail merchandising or assortment planning.
The Manager, Category Management – Marketplace sits within digital and is responsible for achieving Nordstrom customer outcomes focused on driving product sales within designated categories. The Manager grows GMV by strategically developing Marketplace sellers post-launch, using industry insights and internal and external inputs to shape category strategy that supports customer growth.
We are looking for someone who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves — defining and building new processes for the team and cross-functional partners, working comfortably with large data sets and undefined problems. The Manager works closely with NMG, Digital Merchandising, Ecommerce Merchandising, and the broader Marketplace team to support sellers and company goals.
The Manager owns end-to-end assortment and promotional strategy for their category, sets clear OKRs, and is accountable for team results. They lead a team of translating category strategy into clear workstreams for each person and investing in their development and performance. The Manager leads WBRs and MBRs with NMG and partner teams.
