Come join Amazon S3, the leading cloud storage provider with exabytes of customer data stored across trillions of objects. As we’re still in the early days of cloud computing, there are boundless opportunities to grow and redefine this foundational AWS service while also growing and utilizing your own unique skill set. In this role, you will define the roadmap for S3 Express One Zone - a high-performance storage class used by the most demanding customer applications. You will have the opportunity to own the next phase of innovations in high-performance storage, working backwards from customer requirements and inventing on their behalf.
We are currently looking for a Senior Product Manager - Technical to define new features, feature enhancements, and other solutions for S3’s customers. You’ll thrive in this role if: You love technology, are able to understand complex systems, and work with technical teams. You are inspired by the idea of building new solutions for customers. And, finally, with your strong ownership bias, you have a persistent desire to improve how things are done.
Candidates must be comfortable facilitating executive-level reviews, diving deep into data, and expressing ideas through writing.
In this position, you'll do these things: • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories through frequent and direct contact with customers & partners • Collaborate with other product managers, software development managers, and engineers to define, execute, and roll-out features • Bring services/features to market, including running beta programs, collaborating with product marketing, working with industry analysts, etc. • Present current solutions and the roadmap to customers, including at conferences and executive briefings • Partner with the leadership team to set the strategy for S3
Utility Computing (UC) AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
About the team AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.
Why AWS? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating — that’s why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses.
Inclusive Team Culture here at AWS: It’s in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empower us to be proud of our differences. Ongoing events and learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon conferences, inspire us to never stop embracing our uniqueness.
Mentorship & Career Growth: We’re continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth’s Best Employer. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.
Work/Life Balance: We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience - 3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience - Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market - Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
