Role Overview
The Talent Management and Development Assistant utilizes knowledge of firm culture and resources to efficiently provide support, coordination, and communications for legal talent management and development programs. This position also assists with managing the on and off boarding processes for legal talent ensuring compliance.
Responsibilities
Performance Evaluation Process
Support legal talent performance evaluation processes
Work with Chief and Senior Director/Director to maintain viGlobal database
Accurately compiles evaluation information for practice group leaders and other members of firm management during Spring/Fall evaluation cycles, Senior Special Review and Partnership Admission/Evaluation Review processes
Training Program Coordination
Liaise with practice group/section leaders to coordinate appropriate training programs
Coordinate logistics for training programs with AV Team, Facilities, Conference room scheduling and other departments as needed
Track RSVPs and attendance for training programs using the LMS/PD Center
Coordinate the collection and maintenance of CLE records, monitor completion status, and assist with reporting and audit readiness activities
Engagement & Retention
Work with Internal Events team to coordinate and support office specific and firm-wide events (attorney receptions, practice group events, summer associate events, and others as requested), which may include planning, creating invitations, RSVP tracking and attendance records, etc.
Work with Legal Talent Team to develop monthly newsletter publication
Participate in employer outreach and networking events as requested
Participate in summer associate, and legal talent events as requested
Other
Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors, career service offices, and firm personnel to effectively perform job responsibilities
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related
One to three years' experience in a professional business environment with a minimum of two years' experience with legal talent management and development required
Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite, including meeting platforms such as Teams and Zoom, and the ability to learn the systems and databases used by the department and the firm.
Knowledge of viGlobal performance management software preferred
Understanding of HRIS/payroll and database software, preferably Dayforce, or ability to learn quickly.
Excellent oral and written communication (including spelling and grammar) and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of firm personnel, and a variety of external entities in a professional manner.
Ability to work without direct supervision
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
Ability to efficiently handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team within the firm's established structures
Must have the ability to work well under pressure, meet frequent deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
Flexible attitude and the ability to deal well with changing assignments and priorities; willingness to learn and acquire advanced duties, and provide support to varied office members

The role is based in our Washington, DC office, and requires a hybrid/onsite work schedule. The base annual pay range for this role is between $65,000 - $75,000; roughly $33.34 to $38.46 per hour. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
