Full job description
Your Opportunity
At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.
Schwab’s Talent Acquisition team is at the heart of our firm’s talent strategy, helping us attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent while driving growth and delivering meaningful outcomes for our clients.
As a Talent Advisor supporting Schwab Technology Services (STS), you’ll be a consultative partner to hiring leaders, helping shape thoughtful recruiting strategies for highly technical roles. You will combine market insight, relationship building, and skills-based hiring practices to identify talent, guide evidence-based selection decisions, and create a positive experience for candidates and stakeholders throughout the hiring lifecycle. You will also join a collaborative Talent Acquisition team that values trust, shared success, continuous learning, and the opportunity to grow your impact.
What You’ll Do:
Shape Talent Strategy
Build and execute recruiting strategies that connect business priorities, workforce needs, market insight, and measurable hiring outcomes.
Lead consultative intake discussions to define role outcomes, required skills, success measures, talent market considerations, and selection priorities.
Advise hiring leaders by framing options, sharing practical recommendations, and anticipating immediate and future talent needs.
Build and Engage Talent Pipelines
Create and nurture high-quality talent pipelines for current and future technology hiring needs.
Use sourcing tools, referrals, outreach strategies, and market research to identify and engage prospective talent.
Adjust pipeline and requisition strategies based on market response, changing priorities, and progress toward hiring outcomes.
Evaluate Talent and Guide Selection
Apply skills-based hiring practices to evaluate role-relevant capabilities, transferable experience, and demonstrated evidence of success.
Partner with hiring teams to create structured interview plans that promote consistency, fairness, inclusion, and alignment to role outcomes.
Prepare interview materials, facilitate evidence-based debriefs, and synthesize feedback into concise, evidence-based summaries.
Guide stakeholders through talent tradeoffs and help partners reach timely, well-informed hiring decisions.
Create Trusted Experiences
Build trusted partnerships across Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, and the business through clear communication and reliable follow-through.
Provide candidates and hiring partners with a transparent and engaging experience throughout the hiring process.
Adapt communication style to the audience and contribute to shared success by sharing best practices, welcoming different perspectives, and supporting collective success
Navigate Change and Drive Continuous Improvement
Adapt recruiting strategies as business needs, market conditions, and hiring requirements evolve.
Use critical thinking and business judgment to manage competing priorities, resolve barriers, and maintain momentum across multiple searches.
Identify practical ways to improve recruiting practices, candidate experience, tools, and workflows while continuing to build business and talent acquisition expertise.
What you have
We’re looking for someone who can bring the following skills and experience to the role. We value demonstrated capability, transferable experience, and the ability to learn and grow.
Required Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in Talent Acquisition or related roles involving candidate assessment, stakeholder consultation, talent pipelines, workforce planning, or hiring process management.
Experience developing and executing recruiting strategies for complex, specialized, or hard-to-fill technology roles (e.g., developers, cybersecurity, software engineers, etc.).
Ability to apply skills-based hiring practices, including identifying role-relevant capabilities, evaluating evidence, and supporting structured selection decisions.
Strong consultative communication skills, including the ability to clarify needs, frame options, influence stakeholders, and deliver clear recommendations.
Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to connect business priorities, workforce needs, and market insights to recruiting strategy.
Change agility and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Results orientation, including the ability to manage multiple requisitions, maintain momentum, and follow through on commitments.
Demonstrate curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning by staying current on emerging technologies, industry innovations, and future workforce capabilities that impact technology hiring.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and common recruiting technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience recruiting across multiple functions, business areas, or geographically distributed teams.
Familiarity with workforce planning, talent market analysis, employment branding, and Technology recruiting.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Familiarity with AI-powered tools and technologies and the ability to leverage them to improve efficiency, enhance candidate experiences, and support data-informed recruiting decisions.
