Job Title: Senior Accountant
Compensation (Based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Corporate Controller to manage and maintain our accounting management information. This includes developing manual/automated accounting applications, participating in month-end close activities, and reconciling various general ledger and liability account balances to ensure their accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Participates in month-end close activities, including preparation of monthly/standard journal entries, review of allocations and estimates, and correction of errors. Assists in the preparation of monthly internal financial statements and related reports.
Participates in maintaining federal ledger, including preparing financial schedules and writing journal entries for such items as interest income, prepaid insurance.
Maintains chart of accounts.
Maintains amortization schedules for mortgages, etc.
Assists independent auditors with year-end audits and assists in verifying accuracy of reports. Prepares required audit work and reports.
Maintain monthly bank reconciliations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
A minimum of five (5) years or more experience in accounting
Knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles, including internal control, cost accounting and taxes.
Knowledge of computer information systems and spreadsheets to present financial information.
Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong knowledge of GAAP
