Publicis is an omni-channel communications agency with over 600 employees across our Canadian operations. The office is the largest in our industry in Canada and boasts talent across various disciplines of marketing and advertising expertise. Publicis carries a balanced split of Canadian, U.S. and Global clients for which we are Agency of Record. With a strong, active and familial culture, Pub United is the agency’s social club, hosting events as wide reaching as Curling, Trivia Nights and more.
Publicis Health Canada partners with healthcare and pharmaceutical clients to deliver meaningful, high-quality work across traditional and digital channels. We are committed to creating an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful environment where team members can continue to learn, build their careers, and do their best work.
Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Project Manager to join the Publicis Health Canada Project Management team.
This role is intended for someone who has developed foundational coordination or project support experience and is ready to take on greater ownership. The Junior Project Manager will support the planning and delivery of advertising and marketing projects from initiation through completion, working closely with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Program Managers, Creative, Medical and Regulatory, Production, Technology, and other cross-functional partners.
The Junior Project Manager will coordinate day-to-day project activities, maintain accurate project information, support timelines and financial tracking, and help ensure teams have the information, resources, and direction needed to complete their work. As capability and confidence develop, the Junior Project Manager may independently manage small, low-complexity projects or defined workstreams with guidance from a Senior Project Management team member.
This is a developmental role with meaningful accountability. The successful candidate is not expected to arrive as a fully independent Project Manager, but will be expected to demonstrate reliability, strong organization, accurate communication, sound judgment, and growing ownership of project outcomes.
Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Coordination
Support the successful delivery of marketing and advertising projects from initiation through completion.
Coordinate project activities, timelines, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring work progresses according to plan.
Begin managing low-complexity projects or workstreams with guidance from senior Project Management team members.
Planning, Scheduling & Resource Coordination
Create and maintain project timelines, schedules, and status reports.
Monitor project progress, dependencies, and deadlines, identifying risks or delays early.
Support resource planning efforts by ensuring project requirements and timing are accurately reflected.
Financial & Scope Management
Support project budget tracking, estimates, scope changes, and financial documentation.
Develop an understanding of project financial management, including budgets, change requests, out-of-scope work, and project reporting.
Escalate potential scope, timing, or budget concerns in a timely manner.
Quality, Process & Compliance
Ensure projects follow established agency, client, and regulatory processes.
Maintain accurate project documentation, approvals, routing records, and project files.
Support quality control procedures to ensure deliverables meet project and client requirements.
Communication & Collaboration
Partner closely with Client Service, Creative, Medical and Regulatory, Production, Technology, and other cross-functional teams.
Facilitate clear communication through status updates, meeting recaps, action items, and project reporting.
Build strong working relationships and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment.
Continuous Learning & Growth
Develop knowledge of project management best practices, agency operations, healthcare marketing, and pharmaceutical review processes.
Demonstrate accountability, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new tools, processes, and ways of working.
Seek opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen project management skills, and prepare for progression into a Project Manager role.
Qualifications
Approximately one to two years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, project administration, marketing, advertising, communications, production, healthcare, or a related environment.
Post-secondary education in project management, marketing, advertising, communications, business, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Basic knowledge of project planning concepts including tasks, milestones, dependencies, owners, risks, and due dates.
Foundational proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
Experience with Smartsheet, Workfront, Jira, Confluence, Asana, Trello, Monday.com, or a similar project management platform is an asset.
Agency, healthcare, or pharmaceutical experience is an asset but is not required.
Demonstrated curiosity, accountability, adaptability, sound judgment, and willingness to learn and apply feedback.
What Success Looks Like
Keeps assigned project information, timelines, documentation, and systems accurate and current.
Follows through on commitments and communicates clear status, next steps, owners, and due dates.
Identifies timeline, resource, scope, budget, or quality concerns early and escalates with appropriate context.
Builds trust through consistent, accurate, and dependable work.
Demonstrates growing independence across routine project activities and begins managing small, low-complexity projects or workstreams with appropriate oversight.
Develops working knowledge of project financials, regulatory workflows, agency processes, and cross-functional responsibilities.
