Responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms and identifying lethal arrhythmias to report them to nursing staff. Duties include performing 12-lead EKGs and maintaining portable telemetry equipment.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross. Candidates must complete a basic EKG class and demonstrate competency through testing.

Responsible for monitoring and identifying basic normal cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias, and lethal arrhythmias; reporting these findings to the appropriate personnel, and rhythm documentation and labeling per TGH policy. Promotes and maintains patient support including but not limited to: interprets and post rhythm strips and protocol, performs 12 lead EKGs. Maintain and clean portable telemetry monitors between patient use according to manufacturer's guidelines.
