Part Time - ACCSS Special Projects Lead
The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time - ACCSS Special Projects Lead at our Schulenburg Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary The person in this role provides support for the Alliance for College & Career Student Success (ACCSS} program. This includes, but is not limited to, performing administrative assistant tasks, managing student enrichment projects, assisting with staffing the ACCSS Study & Resource Center, and organizing and managing general office functions. Current student enrichment projects include If I Had A Hammer, Career Quest, Sophomore Summit, and College & Career Fair.
Principal Accountabilities
Work collectively and professionally with the ACCSS staff, the ACCSS leadership team, and partner schools to assist the ACCSS program, to promote collaboration as a partnership with rural public-school districts and an institution of higher education and supporting the mission of sharing academic and career resources, student advising, and support needed for every student, regardless of background, to earn post-secondary credits or workforce credentials to pursue their individual goals.
Responsible for planning and implementing ACCSS early recruitment programs such as If I Had a Hammer, Career Quest, Sophomore Summit, and College & Career Fair.
Communicate effectively and positively with the fiscal agent, Blinn College District, and staff, and respect Blinn College District policies and procedures.
Plan and coordinate professional meetings and conferences supportive of ACCSS leadership, partners, and mission.
Coordinate the calendar for the ACCSS team by scheduling events, determining availability, sending calendar invites, and tracking RSVPs.
Assist with data entry and tracking to support grant reporting and program goals, activities, and outcomes.
Manage budgets related to special projects and ACCSS program events and meetings. This includes reconciling the Peard used to purchase supplies locally and working with the ACCSS director for necessary PO approvals and invoice submission.
Monitor inventory and purchasing needs of ACCSS program marketing and support materials.
Performs other duties or related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to travel between ACCSS partner campuses as needed (must have a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Exceptional communication skills.
Highly organized and willing to take the initiative to plan and coordinate special projects, including outreach to partners, industry, and community members.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
2 - 3 years customer service experience.
Minimum Competencies
Effectively communicate with supervisors, peers, and subordinates by telephone, in written format (letters/memos/emails/chat/text), and in person.
Perform administrative activities as detailed in the principal accountabilities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Interact with computers and essential software to create documents, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, etc. at a mastery level.
Observe, receive, process, and otherwise collect information from all relevant sources and to disseminate in an organized and effective manner.
Establish and maintain effective and constructive interpersonal relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Organize, plan, and prioritize multiple projects by setting·goals and timelines, with limited supervision and high degree of accuracy.
Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and effectively solve problems within the scope of this job description and principal accountabilities.
Think creatively to develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or resources (improving efficiency and effectiveness of the department).
Keep essential and advanced technical skills current and to apply new knowledge to job tasks.
Meet all deadlines in an effective and efficient manner.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher (preferably in the field of Business, Business Administration, Communication, Higher Education, or Leadership.)
Experience working in an educational or office setting through student work, work-study, volunteer work, or employment in a similar environment.
Affiliations with community philanthropy, industry, and/or support organizations that will assist with outreach and collaborative work.
Preferred Competencies
Microsoft certifications in related software areas.
Confident and self-motivated in all realms of communication, particularly in-person or over the phone.
Creative and efficient in approaching planning and implementation of youth-focused development activities.
Special Notes To Applicants

grant funded, therefore, this position is not permanent and will be eliminated
once the grant funding is spent, grant ends or the fiscal year ends, whichever
comes first.
