The Department of Physiology, University of Toronto (St. George campus) is recruiting a Sessional Lecturer to teach female reproductive physiology in PSL420H during Fall 2026. The course will run from Sept-Dec 2026, inclusive of the term tests and examinations.
Course Code and Title: PSL420H – Reproduction: Development and Function
Course Description: This course provides an in-depth review of the development and function of the male and female reproductive systems. Topics include sex determination and differentiation, steroidogenesis, gametogenesis, hormonal control of the reproductive axis, the female ovulatory cycle, fertilization and implantation, infertility and assisted reproduction approaches.

Sessional Dates of Appointment: September to December 2026
Salary: In accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the rate of pay for teaching in this course will be $1,699.57, inclusive of vacation pay.
Qualifications: PhD in physiology or related discipline. Formal training and/or advanced knowledge in female reproductive physiology is required. Former lecturing experience at the university level is an asset.
Description of Duties: Delivering 2 X 100 min in-person lectures in female reproductive physiology; creating in-class two in-class quizzes and two group assignments, term test questions, final exam questions, make-up test and make-up final exam questions; providing individual help to students in office hours or via email (in partnership with TA); and interacting with the Course Director or the Department of Physiology Undergraduate Coordinator. This represents 17% of the workload for this course.
