We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
The Cyber Security and Digital Resilience Division The Cyber Security and Digital Resilience Division (CSDRD) is responsible for leading and overseeing government’s digital resilience, and preparedness and response to cyber security risks, including:
Leading the Victorian Government’s cyber security operations
Working with departments and agencies to continue to build the Victorian Government’s cyber security resilience capability
Working with departments and agencies to improve the protection of data assets across the Victorian Public Sector
Shaping whole of government governance arrangements, developing best practice, and providing assurance about the management of cyber security and data protection risks
Improving the resilience of Victoria’s public telecommunications infrastructure to support digital resilience and inclusion
About the role This role is responsible for emergency management functions and operational delivery, working across a variety of public telecommunications, emergency management, digital resilience and critical infrastructure activities. These activities support the Department’s public telecommunications emergency management and digital resilience capabilities which facilitate community safety. The role involves performing operational duties for DGS including working on a roster as a Public Telecommunications Emergency Management Liaison Officer (EMLO) and supporting digital and cyber incidents and emergencies where necessary. The role also supports public telecommunications emergency planning, reporting and briefings to senior leadership.
The successful applicant will have proven communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of government emergency management coordination and response. This position requires conceptual/analytical and management skills as well as an ability to operate with minimal supervision.
Key Accountabilities
Supports the implementation of public telecommunications emergency management operational function while also contributing to other division emergency management and incident response initiatives, exercises and programs.
Provides thorough analysis and expert advice to ministers, senior executives and other key stakeholders on operational and strategic issues relating to public telecommunications emergency management.
Contributes to DGS incident and emergency response obligations, including responsibility for rostering, training and capability management of the function of the DGS Public Telecommunications EMLO.
Facilitates public telecommunications advice and coordinates engagement between Sector Resilience Network partners, public telecommunications carriers and other government and industry stakeholders.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key government, industry, and other stakeholders to support the Victorian Government’s emergency and incident management agenda. This includes coordinating with and providing intelligence and input from the public telecommunications portfolio area to emergency briefings and situation reports.
Conduct other duties as directed to assist the Division that are consistent with a position of this grade and skills requirement.
