Our ongoing investment in top engineering talent and technology ensures our platform remains unmatched in terms of functionality, scalability, and performance.
At Tower, every employee plays a role in our success. Our Business Support teams are essential to building and maintaining the platform that powers everything we do — combining market access, data, compute, and research infrastructure with risk management, compliance, and a full suite of business services. Our Business Support teams enable our trading and engineering teams to perform at their best.
At Tower, employees will find a stimulating, results-oriented environment where highly intelligent and motivated colleagues inspire each other to reach their greatest potential.
Responsibilities
As a Market Data Strategist within our Data Strategy group, you will be part of the team that is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and increasing the overall awareness and effectiveness of external datasets used in Tower Research Capital's trading environment. This role will focus on exchange data and core market data, and in it, you will be responsible for licensing, reporting, controls, and account management.
Work with global exchanges, index providers, and market data vendors to review and negotiate contracts including commercials and usage rights
Monitor the inbound flow of exchange and vendor notifications to assess their impact to Tower and triage accordingly
Engage with internal stakeholders including members of Trading and Engineering to define and support new and existing use cases
Design and implement robust data strategies and governance policies that align with business objectives, including identifying key market trends, analyzing competitor data, and guiding decision-making
Manage exchange usage and reporting, audits, and compliance of market data
Qualifications
A detailed knowledge of the language and structure of market data policies with a focus on unit of count and derived data
A solid understanding of market data pricing models and metrics with the ability to provide alternative sourcing and contracting options
Familiarity with global vendor platforms, products, entitlement systems such as VBD, BPIPE, EMRS, and DACS, and inventory management systems such as FITS and MDM
Experience working with and seeing market data audits through from inception to completion
A proven self-starter who can work independently and within a team while effectively managing multiple priorities
Strong strategic thinker and problem solver with attention to detail
Reliable and predictable partner who can be counted on by team members, senior staff, and external counterparties
Relevant experience at a top buy-side (hedge fund, prop trading firm) institution
Anticipated New York annual base salary range: $120,000-$170,000, plus eligible for discretionary bonus
Benefits
Tower’s headquarters are in the historic Equitable Building, right in the heart of NYC’s Financial District and our impact is global, with over a dozen offices around the world.

Our open concept workplace, casual dress code, and well-stocked kitchens reflect the value we place on a friendly, collaborative environment where everyone is respected, and great ideas win.
Our benefits include:
Generous paid time off policies

Hybrid working opportunities
Free breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily
In-office wellness experiences and reimbursement for select wellness expenses (e.g., gym, personal training and more)
Company-sponsored sports teams and fitness events (JPM Corporate Challenge, Cycle for Survival, Wall Street Rides FAR and more)
Volunteer opportunities and charitable giving
Social events, happy hours, treats and celebrations throughout the year
Workshops and continuous learning opportunities
At Tower, you’ll find a collaborative and welcoming culture, a diverse team and a workplace that values both performance and enjoyment. No unnecessary hierarchy. No ego. Just great people doing great work – together.
