About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
The Service Technician role sits within our Service and Support team and reports to our Service Manager – Northern Region. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality hands-on pre-sales and post-sales support to our customers. This is a varied, field-based role where no two days are the same. You’ll install, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software, support network connectivity, and provide operator training.
Working with some of the latest print and imaging technology, you’ll gain exposure to advanced equipment including digital production print and finishing solutions. Whether you’re just starting your career or already have a few years of experience, this is a great opportunity to build your technical skills, grow your confidence in a customer-facing role, and be part of a supportive team that’s invested in your development.
Scope of the role includes:
Installation, servicing and maintenance of Canon products
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults
Support network connectivity and system performance
Provide operator training to maximise equipment performance
Provide onsite or remote support to maximise efficiencies and customer experience
Build strong, long-term customer relationships
Deliver against SLAs and keep customers informed
Conduct site inspections to support installations and upgrades
Collaborate with sales and internal teams on opportunities
Manage service tasks, parts and stock effectively
Ensure compliance with safety, quality and sustainability standards
About you | Mōu
You’re a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working directly with customers and making a real difference to their day-to-day operations. You take pride in your technical capability, but just as importantly, you know how to communicate clearly, build trust and deliver a great service experience.
You’re organised, proactive and comfortable working independently in the field while staying connected to a wider team. You adapt quickly, stay calm under pressure, and look for smarter ways to get things done. You’re also someone who has a desire to learn and enjoys keeping up with new technologies.
Key skills and experience include:
2-3 years’ experience as a service technician within the industry or within a related field such as IT, electrical engineering, electronics
A relevant qualification in IT, electrical engineering, electronics or similar would be preferred, but not essential
Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
Strong computer literacy, with confidence learning new systems and technologies
Ability to build positive relationships with customers
Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
Good organisation skills with the ability to manage tasks and priorities
Current New Zealand driver’s licence (essential)
