Ensure a safe aquatic environment through proactive supervision and the enforcement of pool rules. Respond to first aid emergencies and maintain the cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC) or be able to pass a specific swim test. Must be a strong swimmer capable of retrieving objects and treading water for 5 minutes.

Team Member, Lifeguard | Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Working as a lifeguard is an opportunity for you to make a real difference in the community. Lifeguards are the key to ensuring a safe environment for our customers and are essential to the successful running of our aquatic facilities.
Pool lifeguards are observant, patient, and good with people. Their skill set means they have the confidence to act in a quick, responsible, and calm way.
As a Lifeguard you are responsible for:
Providing a safe environment through proactive supervision and positive interaction with customers.
Educating and enforcing pool rules.
Responding to any First Aid emergencies.
Ensuring our pool and the surrounding areas are always clean.
We are looking to fill one permanent part-time role. Shifts below:
16-hour: Tuesday (12:45pm-9:15pm) and Saturday (9:45am-6:15pm)
You will be required to attend a 2-week training dates below. Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (weekdays):

We are looking for people who are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others. To work as a pool lifeguard in New Zealand, you will need to hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC). The first step in becoming a lifeguard for Auckland Council is to be able to pass this swim test. Please only apply for this position if you feel you can:
Swim 200m in under 6 minutes
Swim 25m sidestroke
Swim 50m breaststroke
Retrieve an object from the bottom of the pool
Tread water for 5 minutes
