Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead and manage the maintenance department – rosters, training, coaching and performance, building a positive, accountable team culture. 
•    Oversee the efficient operation and upkeep of all hotel assets, facilities, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, pools, gardens, plant rooms and air-conditioning systems. 
•    Direct preventative, routine, corrective and emergency maintenance, backed by regular property inspections and daily walkthroughs. 
•    Keep Fire, Life Safety, security and WHS obligations front and centre – manage BWOF, fire damper registers, compliance schedules and essential services programs. 
•    Coordinate and supervise contractors and service providers, ensuring safe, quality, on-time and on-budget work. 
•    Assist in developing and managing R&M and capex budgets, flagging variances and identifying cost efficiencies. 
•    Respond promptly to guest and interdepartmental maintenance requests, escalating where needed. 
•    Prepare regular maintenance reporting and participate in an on-call roster for after-hours emergencies.

What You’ll Bring:
•    Proven hotel or building maintenance experience across plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry. 
•    Solid knowledge of WHS, fire/life safety and compliance standards. 
•    Budgeting, cost control and contractor management experience. 
•    Strong leadership, rostering and team development skills. 
•    Sound decision-making under pressure and strong problem-solving skills. 
•    Physical fitness for a hands-on, labour-intensive role, with flexibility for weekends, public holidays and on-call duties.
