Job Summary:
About Live Nation:
Join the team at Live Nation, where innovation meets live entertainment on a global scale! With 40,000 shows and 500 million tickets sold each year, we’re the industry leader, powered by 44,000 talented individuals worldwide. At Live Nation, we’re passionate about transforming live events and creating extraordinary moments for artists, event professionals, and fans.
About the role:
We're looking for a detail-obsessed and people-focused Payroll Officer to join the team at Live Nation Australasia in Melbourne. Sitting at the heart of our finance function, this role keeps payroll running smoothly across Australia and New Zealand.
As part of a small Payroll team, you'll be the go-to expert on all things payroll, managing end-to-end processing across 20 payroll entities covering approximately 400 permanent employees and up to 600 seasonal casuals. As Live Nation continues to grow through acquisitions and new hires, this role will evolve with the business, so you'll need to be someone who thrives on change and brings a continuous improvement mindset to everything they do.
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, apply now with your resume and a cover letter outlining why you're the perfect fit for this role.
What you’ll be doing:
End-to-end payroll processing: Manage weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay cycles across 20 payroll entities, covering approximately 400 permanent employees and up to 600 seasonal casuals across Australia and New Zealand.
Compliance and reporting: Provide Single Touch Payroll reporting to the ATO and Payday Filing reporting to the IRD and manage annual requirements including payroll tax and WorkCover insurance. Process Payday Super after every Australian payrun.
Stakeholder and query management: Partner with HR and Finance on new starters, payroll changes, out-of-cycle payments, and respond to payroll queries from employees and managers in a timely manner.
Reconciliation and accuracy: Check and reconcile all payroll reports prior to approval and provide ad hoc termination and redundancy calculations with full manual accuracy.
Process improvement: Drive continuous improvement by building efficiencies, maintaining thorough documentation, and identifying opportunities to streamline payroll operations.
What you’ll bring:
Solid payroll experience: 5+ years in an end-to-end payroll role of similar scale, with strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation including PAYG, superannuation and WorkCover, and experience across New Zealand payroll preferred.
Systems proficiency: Experience with ADP Payforce highly regarded, alongside familiarity with Workforce and Deputy, plus intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail: A high level of numerical reasoning and analytical ability, with a track record of getting it right first time.
Discretion and professionalism: Proven ability to handle sensitive payroll information with the utmost confidentiality, reliability and care.
Strong communicator: Confident working with HR, Finance and employees at all levels, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptable team player: Self-motivated and able to work independently, while contributing to a collaborative team culture that embraces change and innovation.
The Benefits:
A vibrant, music-focused workplace fostering creativity and collaboration.
Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
A flexible approach to when and where you work, designed to support balance in all aspects of life.
Access to concerts, events, and other entertainment perks.
A diverse, equitable workplace where every voice matters.
Comprehensive benefits, from volunteer days to wellness programs and mental health support.
Equal Opportunities:
We are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion. You will be working in an inclusive environment and be encouraged to bring your whole self to work. We will do all that we can to help you successfully balance your work and Homelife. As a growing business, we will encourage you to develop your professional and personal aspirations, enjoy new experiences, and learn from the talented people you will be working with. It's talent that matters to us and we encourage applications from people irrespective of their gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability status or caring responsibilities.
