RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Charlotte Office. RK&K has been present in North Carolina for over sixty years! As a Geotechnical Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will conduct and supervise field investigations and develop design computations; and prepare of geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
Essential Functions
Assist in the development geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs,
Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software,
Preparation of bridge, roadway and retaining wall inventory reports and foundation recommendations,
Post-bid retaining wall plans,
Foundations recommendations for other structures,
Innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering
Required Skills and Experience
BS degree in Civil Engineering
Four (4)+ years of Geotechnical Design experience, NCDOT experience
Professional Engineer License
Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, and GRLWEAP
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Knowledge of Microstation
Passion for client service and engineering
Preferred Skills and Experience
MS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering
Seven (7)+ years of Geotechnical Design experience, NCDOT experience
