Responsibilities
Responsible for analyzing and auditing mold remediation and water mitigation protocols, estimates, and invoices to ensure they are reasonable. The role involves negotiating with vendors and using Xactimate software to reconcile assignments and align with policy procedures.
Requirements
Requires a Florida licensed All-Lines adjuster license (or ability to obtain one) and at least 3 years of experience in property claims or water mitigation. Candidates must be proficient in Xactimate and be able to obtain IICRC AMRT certification.
Position is responsible for analyzing, auditing and evaluating Mold Testing & Remediation protocols, lab reports, estimates and invoices to ensure they are reasonable and appropriate based on the services provided through established guidelines. Additionally, the position would be responsible for analyzing, auditing and evaluating associated water mitigation reports, readings, drying logs, estimates and invoices to ensure they are reasonable and appropriate based on the services provided and per established guidelines. Description and responsibilities of this role include:
Essential Functions
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL, BASIC, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION. THESE FUNCTIONS ARE NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED.
Review and monitor mitigation estimates and final bills to ensure they are reasonable and appropriate for the work performed; prepare comparative estimates. Accurately review emergency water mitigation information provided by vendors, and claim documentation, to verify services performed. Review and monitor Mold Testing & Remediation estimates and final bills to ensure they are reasonable and appropriate for the work performed; prepare comparative estimates. Review Mold Testing & Remediation information provided by to verify services performed. Review and respond to requests submitted for mold testing services to exceed applicable policy limits for mold testing/assessments. Interact with preferred and non-preferred vendors within designated timeframes throughout the mitigation and/or remediation process to ensure appropriate mitigation/remediation is performed. Communicate with the adjuster team handling the claim and their management. Negotiate with preferred and non-preferred vendors to ensure bills are in line with appropriate pricing and scope. Create alignment regarding policy and procedures with the claims department and across vendors for handling Mold Testing & Remediation. Identify trends and recommend best practices and procedures to the Team Manager. Use Xactimate estimating software to adjust and reconcile Mitigation, Mold Testing & Remediation assignments. Create and communicate estimate creation and revision changes with the appropriate teams. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Florida licensed All-Lines adjuster (620) or ability to obtain adjuster license within 30 days. 3+ years’ experience in property claims required. 3+ years’ experience Water Mitigation may offset property adjusting experience. Ability to obtain IICRC AMRT certification within 60 days. (contingent on course availability). IICRC / WRT certified; strong working knowledge of IICRC guidelines. Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in preparing Mold Remediation plans and performing Mold Remediation estimating. IICRC / ASD certified. IICRC / Mold certified; strong working knowledge of IICRC guidelines. Florida Mold Remediators license. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good skills working with vendors and customers. Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to work well within deadlines. Knowledge of property insurance policy and coverage analysis. Strong skills and experience with Xactimate estimating program.
