IMEG is hiring a Survey Technician in Austin, Texas to provide office production support for land surveying projects and apply diversified knowledge across the land surveying team. This role supports office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables.
In this role, you'll help monitor field crew production, prepare survey computations and deliverables, carry out initial quality control, and coordinate with your supervisor to meet client-specific demands. The position supports municipal and transportation work across Central Texas, along with site development efforts.

What You'll Do
Provide office production support for land surveying projects and apply diversified project knowledge across the surveying team.
Process incoming information and produce final land surveying project deliverables for office and field staff.
Process data using IMEG CAD standards, including evaluating accuracy and ensuring compliance with applicable land survey project and professional standards under the direction of your supervisor and a licensed professional.
Monitor field crew production and provide quality assurance.
Research historical maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports.
Prepare complex survey computations, staking and control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects.
Prepare cadastral, existing conditions and platting from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil software.
Carry out initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practices.
Coordinate with your supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met.
Act as a field technician as requested to complete survey fieldwork.
Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers.
Observe safety and security procedures.
What You'll Bring
Required Education
Associate degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred
Experience
3 years of experience minimum required, 5 preferred, in the land surveying, consulting or construction industry
Required Skills/Abilities
Possess advanced knowledge of Survey operations, principles, and practices
Knowledge of engineering plans and construction documents
Knowledgeable of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques
Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD or similar applications are a plus
Proficiency in technical math, geometry, and trigonometry is recommended
Possess basic oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate with clients, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG
Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
