Position Overview:
Superintendent III is responsible for leading large-scale commercial construction projects exceeding $10 million or managing multiple concurrent projects. This role requires advanced leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to drive project performance across all phases of construction. Superintendent III serves as a key liaison between clients, project teams, and field operations, ensuring alignment on schedule, budget, quality, and overall project objectives. This position plays a critical role in managing risk, optimizing efficiency, and delivering successful project outcomes.
Location:
This is a traveling position based out of Port St. Lucie, Florida. The primary project is located in Port St. Lucie, and the successful candidate will be expected to maintain a regular on-site presence throughout the duration of the project. Candidates should be willing to stay in the Port St. Lucie area during the work week as project demands require. Travel to project sites throughout Florida and other assigned regions is required as business needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead large-scale construction projects exceeding $10M or multiple concurrent projects
- Drive overall project execution, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards
- Proactively identify risks and implement solutions to maintain project performance
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using MS Project
- Complete and distribute weekly 3-week look-ahead schedules in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor and manage project budgets and resource allocation
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for client interactions
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively
- Oversee subcontractor performance across multiple trades and/or projects
- Enforce quality control standards and ensure compliance with plans and specifications
- Drive accountability and performance across all field teams
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards across all assigned projects
- Conduct and document weekly toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with all building codes, regulations, and safety requirements
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of project documentation
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, and field reporting processes
- Lead, mentor, and develop Superintendents I & II and Assistant Superintendents
- Provide guidance on complex field issues, sequencing, and coordination
- Promote a high-performance, accountable, and safety-focused job site culture
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent
- Proven experience leading large-scale ($10M+) or multiple concurrent projects
- Demonstrated ability to drive project efficiency and manage stakeholder expectations
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic planning and risk management expertise
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient in MS Project for scheduling and planning
- Strong experience with construction management platforms (e.g., Procore)
Certifications
- OSHA 30 Certification required
