The manager will own a portfolio of regional partner accounts, focusing on retention, renewal, and growth through strategic account planning. They will also lead the delivery of regional events and manage community engagement to foster a strong network for state-educated talent.
Requirements
Candidates should have approximately two years of experience in partnerships, operations, or community roles with a strong background in account management. Excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a deep commitment to the organization's mission are essential.
Full job description
We’re looking for a natural connector to help grow The 93% Club in the North West - managing our partnerships, events and our community on the ground, and making the North West feel like home for state-educated talent.
About The 93% Club
We’re the UK’s first, largest and fastest-growing network for state-educated people. Think of us as the alumni network state schoolers never got - community, connections, opportunities and a louder collective voice.
We’re a social enterprise on a mission to make state school pride the norm, not the exception. With 70+ student clubs nationwide, a thriving professionals’ network and a roster of top graduate employers, we help our members connect, upskill, and pay it forward. 100% of our profits go straight back into the mission.
And we’re only just getting started.
The Role
We’ve just launched our first regional hub, and we’re looking for a superstar Membership Manager to run our partnership accounts, deliver a premium experience for their people, and build our Manchester community from there.
You'll be the person our partners call first. That means understanding what each of them is actually trying to achieve, building the plan to get them there, showing them the results, and making the case to grow the relationship year on year. Everything else you do (the events, the comms, the community) is what makes that relationship worth renewing.
This is a hands-on role for someone proactive, empathetic and excited to roll up their sleeves across operations, partnerships and events. You’ll work alongside brands that genuinely care about social mobility, deepen your experience in community and partnerships, and make sure our growing North West community feels right at home.
If you love moving fast, building relationships and turning a room of strangers into a community, you’ll fly here.
What you’ll be doing
Partnerships & Accounts
Own a portfolio of regional partner accounts as their primary point of contact, with responsibility for retention and renewal.
Build and run account plans for each partner: what success looks like for them, how we get there, and how we prove it.
Lead regular check-ins and end-of-year reviews, presenting engagement data and making the case for renewal and growth.
Spot and pitch expansion opportunities within existing accounts: new teams, bigger packages, additional activity.
Support new business across the North West, from first conversation through to signed partnership.
Engage and manage members from partner organisations, tracking their engagement and flagging where it needs a push.
Keep account records, activity and pipeline accurate and up to date in our CRM.
Events
Support on the planning and delivery of in-person events across the region, from partner roundtables to flagship moments - scoping, facilitation and follow-up.
Build the kind of events that turn a room of strangers into a community.
Communications & Content
Write and manage regional comms, tracking performance and optimising engagement.
Create content and storytelling that draws on our genuine North West identity.
Be a friendly, approachable voice for the region online — and keep partners in the loop on what we’re doing and how it’s going.
Operations
Support the day-to-day running of our North West hub, supporting the Head of North West with ad-hoc requests and logistics.
Track activity and engagement across the region, monitoring performance against KPIs and spotting trends and opportunities.
You’ll thrive here if you are…
Rooted in the North West — you know the region, you care about it, and you want to build something here.
A natural relationship-builder: friendly, approachable, and brilliant at energising people.
Confident in a commercial conversation: you can talk about renewal, scope and pricing without flinching.
A self-starter - proactive, persistent, resourceful, and happy to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
Highly organised and reliable, comfortable juggling multiple workstreams at once.
A creative thinker who brings fresh ideas to processes, partnerships and engagement.
Data-aware: comfortable tracking metrics and using insight to drive improvement.
#StateSchoolProud - genuinely committed to transforming the state-educated experience in the UK.
What you bring
We’re a small team with big ambitions, and we welcome conversations from people who don’t tick every box, or who bring strengths we hadn’t even thought of yet. If you think you’d be a great fit, please do reach out.
Around 2 years’ experience in a partnerships, operations or community role.
Experience in account management, ideally managing partner or client relationships.
Experience delivering events end to end.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with a strong eye for tone and detail.
Outstanding customer service instincts and a willingness to go the extra mile for members and partners.
An efficient operator who balances quality work with the need to move quickly.
Confident using - or quickly learning - tools like Google Workspace, email management systems and Slack.
A deep commitment to The 93% Club’s mission.
What we offer
A role where you genuinely shape a growing national movement — starting in the North West.
A supportive, mission-driven team.
Real autonomy and space to be creative.
Hybrid working and a flexible culture.
The chance to change this country for the better.
The Process
Application: share your personal details and an up-to-date CV.
Virtual interview with Imogen Carr, Head of North West.
In-person task interview: a short task based on the kind of project you’d actually work on.
Right to work
You must have the right to work in the UK. We’re unable to offer sponsorship for this role, and we can’t consider overseas applications at this time.
Our commitment to equity
We’re an equal opportunities employer - and proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of class, socioeconomic background, race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. We know qualifications and experience come in many forms, and we value potential - so if you don’t meet every single requirement, apply anyway.

We are the student society that is dedicated to improving the experience of state school students at The University of Manchester.
Please get in touch if you'd like to connect with hundreds of motivated Manchester undergraduates!
---
93% of secondary school students, across the UK, attend state schools. Yet, at The University of Manchester, we account for just 84.6% of the intake.
Coming to a top university from a state school education can be quite daunting and, more often than not, it can be difficult to find people with life experiences that are similar to your own - sometimes leading to a feeling of alienation.
This group wants to help break down the divide between state and private schools and ensure that students from disadvantaged educational backgrounds have the same positive experience at The University of Manchester.
This group was created in response for the expressed need to voice the experiences and opinions of state schools (in the UK and internationally) that have come to The University of Manchester and feel that they have done so through educational disadvantage.
GROUP AIMS:
(1) To offer students from state school backgrounds a platform where they can share experiences, opinions, concerns and useful social/educational resources.
(2) A place to build a social community for students that have come to The University of Manchester from state schools.
(3) To provide a platform for students from state schools to express their voices and campaign on the issues they believe in.
