Full job description
Membership Data Analyst - Membership & CRM Analytics £42,000 - £50,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6A) Manchester city centre - in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and the office once per week (find out more about our hybrid working policy at https://jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).
We're looking for a Membership & CRM Data Analyst to join our Advanced Insight & Analytics team and help us better understand our members, customers and colleagues through data. You'll turn complex information into clear, actionable insights that help shape decisions across our Co-op, supporting our membership strategy and customer engagement activity. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll use data analysis, problem-solving and storytelling to uncover opportunities that drive better outcomes for our customers and the wider business.
Why this role matters
At Co-op, membership is at the heart of what we do. This role offers the opportunity to influence how we engage with millions of customers by providing the insight that helps teams make informed decisions. You'll work on a wide range of challenges, from understanding customer behaviour and campaign performance to identifying opportunities for growth and engagement. It's a role where you'll see the impact of your work, collaborate with a variety of teams, and continue to develop your analytical and technical skills in a business that's owned by its members and committed to doing right by them every day.
What you’ll do
• Analyse membership and CRM data to answer business questions and provide clear, data-driven recommendations • Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and identify opportunities where data can support decision-making • Source, manipulate and interrogate data from multiple systems to produce reliable analysis and insights • Use analytical and statistical techniques to identify trends, patterns and opportunities within customer data • Support the delivery of regular reporting, as well as ad-hoc analysis requests across membership and customer engagement activities • Present findings in a clear and engaging way, helping technical and non-technical audiences understand the story behind the data • Contribute to cross-functional projects that use data and insight to improve member and customer outcomes • Share knowledge, best practice and success stories to help build a strong analytics community across Co-op
What you’ll bring
We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:
• Experience working in a data analysis or analytics role, ideally within a customer, membership or CRM-focused environment • Strong SQL skills with experience extracting, transforming and analysing data from multiple sources • Advanced Excel skills, you’re able to use different formulas and techniques to manipulate data, spot trends and produce meaningful insight • The ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for a range of audiences • Experience creating data visualisations and presenting insights in a clear and compelling way • A collaborative approach, with experience working closely with stakeholders and colleagues across different teams • A commercial mindset and a passion for using data to improve member experiences and business performance • Strong attention to detail and experience validating data, identifying anomalies and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of analysis and reporting outputs
We know some people may hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every requirement. At Co-op, we’re committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly, we still encourage you to apply.
Why Co-op?
At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:
• An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance) • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ) • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice • 24/7 colleague support service • Training and support for your development and career progression • Cycle-to-work scheme
A place you’ll belong
We’re building diverse and inclusive teams that reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone and are committed to creating a workplace where colleagues can feel like they belong, supported by our inclusive policies and the ways we work.
We’re proud to be part of the Disability Confident scheme and offer interviews to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for a job. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, we’ll support you.
