As the Academic Programs Coordinator, Registrar Services, you will play a critical role in supporting undergraduate academic programs, registrar operations, and student services within the Sanford School of Public Policy.
In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with students, faculty, academic leaders, and university colleagues to ensure the successful administration of the Journalism & Media (JAM) Minor, Tech Policy Minor (TPM), and undergraduate Public Policy Studies (PPS) major. Your ability to balance multiple priorities, provide exceptional service, and foster strong relationships will directly contribute to student success and academic excellence.

What You'll Do
Support Sanford Academic Minors (60%)
You will serve as a key resource for the Journalism & Media and Tech Policy Minors by:
Managing course approval processes through Duke's course request systems and advising faculty on course creation and curriculum updates.
Supporting faculty with DukeHub and other registrar-related systems and processes.
Partnering with faculty directors to establish, monitor, and update minor requirements and curriculum pathways.
Tracking elective offerings, enrollments, internships, and program participation.
Managing independent study course setup and ensuring compliance with academic requirements.
Advising students on minor requirements, degree completion pathways, course sequencing, and graduation readiness.
Reviewing transcripts and maintaining accurate student academic records.
Serving as a liaison with Sanford centers, Trinity College, and other Duke departments.
Supporting academic communications, website updates, bulletin revisions, and program information management.
Providing supplemental support for additional Sanford minor programs as needed.
Support the Undergraduate Public Policy Major (20%)
In partnership with the Sanford Registrar, you will:
Manage undergraduate course approval and curriculum processes within DukeHub.
Coordinate course additions, revisions, and updates while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Assist with course registration management, enrollment controls, and student registration issues.
Provide responsive support through registrar communications and shared service channels.
Support course planning, classroom scheduling, and coordination with university partners.
Assist faculty with academic systems and registrar-related processes.
Provide Academic Programs Operational Support (20%)
You will contribute to the overall success of Sanford Academic Programs by:
Assisting with revisions and maintenance of the Sanford Academic Bulletin.
Supporting course planning activities and instructor workload tracking through departmental systems.
Coordinating undergraduate and graduate course evaluation processes.
Collecting, organizing, and distributing course syllabi and instructional materials.
Supporting special projects and other academic program initiatives as assigned.
What You Bring
Education
Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Public Administration, Communications, Business Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field preferred.
Work requires communications, organizational, and analytical skills typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree.
Experience
One year of professional experience in student services, registrar services, admissions, financial aid, enrollment management, academic advising, or a related higher education function.
Experience supporting academic programs, curriculum administration, course scheduling, registration processes, or student records is preferred.
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

Experience interpreting and applying academic policies, procedures, and curriculum requirements.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $48,899.00 to USD $77,510.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
