About the role
We’re currently looking for two Senior Managers for Private Enterprise team — one based in our Vancouver office and one in our Tri-Cities office.
The Senior Manager of Private Sector is responsible for leading work for our private sector clients by leading a variety of accounting, auditing and tax engagements including, but not limited to, planning, preparing, managing, reviewing and executing client work. The Senior Manager is also responsible for ensuring exceptional client delivery of service to clients within their portfolio. Considered the main point of contact for the engagement, the Senior Manager of Private Sector is a liaison between staff, the clients and Partners. In addition to communicating directly with existing clients and resolving any issues that may arise, the Senior Manager of Private Sector is also responsible for acquiring new clientele.
How you’ll make a difference
Plan, manage, and execute compilation, review, and audit engagements
Prepare financial statements with appropriate note disclosure in accordance with ASPE engagements
Review and finalize corporate and personal income tax returns, and related financial statements
Identify and research potential resolutions for technical issues that arise during the engagement
Monitor progress of work being completed on files and communicate with team and partners
Identify and analyze client needs and provide exceptional service and advice to our clients
Assist with client management and foster excellent relationships with clients
Train, develop and supervise staff
Who you are
CPA-designated with 5+ years of public practice experience, primarily supporting private-enterprise clients
2+ years of management public practice experience
Strong technical skills in compilations, review engagements, corporate and personal tax, and year-end planning
PE Assurance experience would be an asset, but not necessary
Experienced in file planning, managing engagements, reviewing work, coaching staff, and communicating with clients
Someone who values feedback, mentorship, and supporting others’ growth — and who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment
Excited to build relationships, contribute to firm initiatives, and grow your leadership capabilities — including supporting recruiting, training, and CPA mentorship opportunities
What DMCL offers
Partnership pathway with opportunities available and a proven track record of promoting partners
Mentorship and support in business development from a fast-growing group
Diverse client portfolio across a variety of industries, including high net worth clients and privately held businesses
A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
A 35-hour workweek, with core hours between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM
Paid overtime or time off in lieu at all levels
Flexible days throughout the year (equivalent to 12 additional days off, on top of vacation)
An annual wellness allowance to support mental and physical well-being
Meal allowances for additional time worked
Fulfillment of CPA PD requirements through a variety of options, such as CPA Professional Development Courses, online podcasts, monthly tax updates, and in-house developed sessions—allowing each individual to tailor their annual PD to the type of work they’re doing
